Sample devotional.

When the way is unclear

Some days, we wish faith came with a complete map. We want to know how the conversation will go, when the waiting will end, or whether the next decision will turn out as we hope.

Paul writes about confidence in the Lord while looking beyond what is immediately visible. Read 2 Corinthians 5:1–10 for the setting of this brief, familiar sentence.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Trust in the ordinary

Walking by faith does not mean every feeling becomes a direction from God. It means learning to trust him while responding to what he has made clear. We can seek wise counsel, attend to Scripture, and act responsibly without demanding certainty about every outcome.

A faithful step may be quiet: telling the truth, asking forgiveness, completing a responsibility, or making time to pray. These actions do not remove all uncertainty. They are ways of entrusting ourselves to God within it.

Carry this into today

Name one thing you cannot control. Then name one thing you can do faithfully. Hold the first before God in prayer and take a practical step with the second.

• Give yourself a moment of stillness.
• Read the passage in context.
• Choose one act of trust and obedience.

A prayer

Father, you see beyond what I can see. Help me to listen to your Word, receive wise counsel, and do the good that is before me. Give me patience for what remains unclear and courage for the next faithful step. Amen.
